Vasai: A 7-year-old boy drowned in a Virar resort on Sunday afternoon. The lifeguards present there tried to save him and took him to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival. The Arnala coastal police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are investigating further.Police confirmed that a Mumbai resident—70-year-old Ramlal Yadav had visited the resort on Sunday with his grandchildren and also with a few kids from the neighbourhood. According to police, at the resort, Yadav went after one of his grandkids leaving the others unattended.This is when the 7-year-old went into the water and reportedly drowned. Police said that no one else from the family accompanied Yadav. Police said similar cases had been reported from the area previously and that such drowning cases have increased.
