‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ advance box office: The Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri starrer expected to earn Rs 5 crore on Day 1 | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri starrer ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ is hitting the screens today. The film is clashing with Alia Bhatt‘s ‘Jigra‘ and there’s immense buzz around both these movies. Of course, this film comes after the recent success of ‘Stree 2’ for Rajkummar Rao, hence, that memory may still be fresh among the audience, which may work in the favour of the movie. However, the early lukewarm response is pretty much expected as the advance sales are average. The film may see a jump in the business through positive word of mouth, if it really does have good content.
So far, the movie has managed to sell 22,000 tickets in the top three National chains – PVR Inox, Cinepolis, according to Pinkvilla. Out of these, around 16,500 tickets are sold at PVR Inox chain while Cinepolis has sold around 5500 tickets. With this, the movie is expected to open at Rs 5 crore approximately on its day 1 which is Friday. However, this collection will largely depend upon current/ walk-in bookings.
The Dussehra period though, may work in the favour of the movie as people may flock to the cinemas, but the garba fever is also a tough competition as people prefer to play garba during navratri nights than go to watch a movie. But if it does get good word of mouth, it may manage to have a weekend of around Rs 17 to Rs 21 crore. The film will face competition from ‘Jigra’ which is also having a similar advance booking report at the moment.
Both these movies do have some time to prove their worth and make some money as it’s an open three-week window before ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ release this Diwali.
