Throwback: When Kangana Ranaut said that even if she wins an Oscar, she won’t go | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut is known to speak her mind, not worried about being politically correct. The actress and politician, who has often said that she is not friends with anyone in the industry, makes no bones about the fact that whether it is Bollywood parties or events, she maintains a safe distance from them, as she is simply not interested.

A couple of years back, Kangana had appeared on an episode of Aap Ki Adalat, where she spoke on a flurry of topics, including her alleged relationships, award shows and the like.

Kangana is actually a four time National Award winner herself, in the years, 2015, 2016, 2010 and 2021, however, she does not attend any others awards. When asked about Hollywood aspirations, Kangana said that she has no such plans, as she is quite rooted and is happy here. When she was asked will she go if she won an Oscar, Kangana said that no, she will not go, even if that happens, receiving an applause from the audience.
Recently, Kangana Ranaut has urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to speed up the release process of her political drama Emergency, as the delay is causing financial losses for her and the other producers.
She expressed frustration during an interview with ANI, stating, “The way I have made the film, I got no support from the film industry. I am the producer of the film along with other partners. A delayed release is a loss for all. Netflix is also calling repeatedly since the film had to release on the platform after the theatrical release. I think the censor board should take the responsibility to release this film at the earliest.”

Earlier, Kangana also revealed that she had to sell her property in Mumbai after the film’s release was postponed due to a delay in obtaining the censor certificate. Her Bandra bungalow was sold for Rs 32 crore. She had bought the property for Rs 20.7 crore in 2017.
She compared her struggle to other controversial films like Padmaavat and Udta Punjab, which were successfully released despite facing threats. “But when it comes to my film, no one has stepped up. I’m completely on my own,” Kangana had said.

In Emergency, Kangana Ranaut plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, depicting one of India’s most turbulent political eras. The film was originally scheduled to release on September 6 but was postponed after protests. The cast also includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.
