However, in Hindi, the film is just about managing to survive. On its first day, the film earned Rs 1.85 crore, on Friday it dipped to Rs 1.4 crore, only to rise on Saturday to collect Rs 2.35 crore and Sunday collections jumped higher to reach Rs 2.70 crore. But on Monday, the film crashed by more than 65 percent to collect Rs 90 lakh, as per early estimates by Sacnilk. This is the first time the film has collected less than Rs 1 crore. The overall collection stands at Rs 9.2 crore. GOAT failed to beat the five day Hindi collection of Vijay’s last film Leo: Bloody Sweet, which had collected Rs 11.2 crore.
Since the release of the Baahubali series, South Indian cinema has seen remarkable success in the Hindi-speaking regions, with films performing exceptionally well across the Hindi belt. However, upon closer examination, this trend primarily applies to Telugu films. Blockbusters like Baahubali, RRR, and Pushpa have set high benchmarks, along with Kannada cinema’s KGF. In contrast, Tamil films have struggled to achieve the same level of success and box office numbers in the Hindi market, failing to match the heights reached by their Telugu and Kannada counterparts.
The Greatest of All Time, features Vijay in a dual role along with a star-studded cast of Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Meenakshi Chaudhary. It is the penultimate film for Vijay, who will soon cross over into the world of politics. He’s already formed his party and launched its flag and logo with the Election Commision recognizing it as a political party on Saturday.
