Priyanka Chopra reveals her ‘namaste’ pose during Miss World 2000 was a trick: ‘I was desperately trying to keep my dress up’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World in 2000 when she was just 18, and the actress has now returned to the same location in London to attend a concert by her husband, Nick Jonas. She shared a post mentioning how life had come full circle and humorously recalled how she had been ‘desperately’ trying to prevent her dress from slipping down.
Priyanka dropped some pictures in which she was seen holding her little one, Malti Marie, and hugging Nick Jonas. The actress shared some videos of herself enjoying Nick’s concert and a behind-the-scenes shot of Malti holding a microphone.
She captioned the post, “I was crowned Miss World at this arena 24 years ago. It was called the Millennium Dome back then. I’ll never forget my little 18-year-old self—excited, nervous, and competitive—trying to look and be the best I could be.”

The ‘Citadel’ actress could not contain her excitement, saying, “A memory I will never forget from November 30th, 2000, is the feeling of balancing on pencil heels in a gorgeous Hemant Trivedi dress that was falling off the entire evening because my body tape wouldn’t stay on, as I was sweating so much from nerves. Hence, if you google the pictures, after I won, it looks like I’m doing a namaste in gratitude, but I’m actually desperately trying to keep my dress up. (laughing face emojis) Clearly, I survived, and it was all well in the end.”
