New Delhi:
After a week-long standoff between the government and the Opposition ended in an agreement, both Houses of Parliament are set to function smoothly from today.
The floor leaders of all parties convened by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met on Monday and all agreed for a special discussion on the Constitution during the session. The government agreed to allow certain issues like the situation in Bangladesh and violence in Sambhal to be raised during Zero Hour.
The winter session of Parliament began on November 25 and will continue till December 20.
Here are the LIVE Updates on Parliament Winter Session:
Â
Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav in Rajya Sabha-
On 24th December, at 6 am, police was deployed in the entire Sambhal. The people of Sambhal did not even know why the police were being deployed. After some time, the DM, SSP, lawyer, and some people went with the police playing drums and entered the mosque. The crowd suspected that they were going to vandalize the mosque. SDM opened the water tank and when water started flowing out, people suspected that something was going wrong in it, and then there was unrest. The police opened fire, 5 people were killed, 20 people were injured, cases were filed against hundreds of people and many are in jail, Those who were caught were beaten badly. I and many other people believe that in the elections that were held earlier in Uttar Pradesh, the police in the neighbouring districts did not allow anyone to cast their vote and forcibly took over the elections. All this happened in a way to divert attention from that.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan In Lok Sabha-
The government of West Bengal has committed the crime of benefiting certain people by reducing big works to small ones. Under this scheme, ineligible people were made eligible and eligible people were made ineligible, this has been proved, the names of rural development schemes have been changed. They have committed the crime of changing the name of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and keeping their own name. Even under the same scheme, ineligible people were given benefits and eligible people were left out. This amount is not for misuse, it is not for benefiting ineligible people. The West Bengal government did not take any effective action on that. As PM Modi ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’, but we will not allow the misuse of funds.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav says, “Since the day when the parliamnet session began, Samajwadi Party has tried to raise the issue of the Sambhal incident. The House didn’t function, but our demand is still the same – we want to put our views on the Sambhal incident in the House. The officers out there are working arbitrarily – such that they are working as party workers of the BJP… Sambhal incident is a well-thought strategy of the BJP to deviate people from other issues. Those who want to dig everywhere – someday they will lose the cordiality and brotherhood of the country…”
