Mumbai: The Bandra-Kurla Complex police have launched a manhunt for Sudesh Tukaram Indap, 40, a temporary employee attached to Mumbai University, against whom a case has been filed for allegedly leaking BCom Semester VI question papers. A police team went to his house to find that no one knew about his whereabouts. “Indap has not reported to work after the paper leak came to light,” said a police officer.According to the FIR filed on a complaint by Prof Shivaji Sargar, CDOE director and chief conductor of the examination process, the breach surfaced on April 15 following an alert from the examination department. A review of CCTV footage confirmed the act, and the accused is said to have admitted to forwarding the images, allegedly for financial gain. The incident is believed to have taken place between April 9 and 15 at the university’s Kalina campus.Nine days later, a case was registered under the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices in University, Board and Other Examinations Act, 1982, along with relevant provisions of the BNS. Further inquiry is underway.
