Mumbai: 1st floor slab from 38-year-old Dombivli building collapses, 3 residents injured | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Kalyan: A portion of a slab from the first floor of a residential building in Dombivli collapsed Monday morning at 10.30 am, injuring one, and leaving two others with minor injuries. Officials from the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) and the fire brigade rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations. KDMC’s ward officer Prasad Thakur said the building, Aadhar Co-operative Housing Society, is around 38-year-old and comprises ground-plus-four floors with a total of 45 flats. “As a precautionary measure, we have evacuated the entire building. Residents have been instructed to conduct a structural audit. Further decisions on whether the building can be repaired and made fit for habitation or needs to be demolished will be taken based on the audit report,” he said. Residents have been advised not to re-enter the premises until further notice.
