Pune: The price of 1kg of CNG and PNG has been increased by MNGL by Re1 from Tuesday (midnight of Monday) in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and adjoining areas of Chakan, Talegaon and Hinjewadi. The new price will be Rs95.75. The existing price for the same is Rs94.75, at present. The last price hike was of Rs2.50 that came into effect from May 28.The price of PNG per SCM (standard cubic metres) has also been hiked from Rs50.65 to Rs51.50. MNGL has recorded a massive increase in households opting for PNG over LPG in the recent past.Autorickshaw unions have always demanded an increase in fares due to the frequent rise in the CNG prices. This hike, according to sources, will further strengthen their demand. “We have demanded the fare hike and the latest hike is a testament that the administration and RTA shouldn’t delay it any further,” said an office bearer with Rickshaw Panchayat Union.
