Maharashtra: Central Railway to operate 15-hour block between Umbermali and Atgaon stations from 12 noon on April 25 to 3 am on April 26 | Mumbai News – The Times of India


Mumbai: Suburban and long-distance services on Central Railway will be disrupted this weekend due to a 15-hour special block for yard remodelling work linked to the Kalyan-Kasara third line project. The block will be operated between Umbermali and Atgaon stations from 12 noon on April 25 to 3 am on April 26.Suburban services between Asangaon and Kasara will remain suspended during the block. Trains to Kasara will either short-terminate at Asangaon, Titwala or Vasind, while services originating from Kasara will start from Asangaon or Titwala.One Kasara-CSMT local, 2.42 pm departure has been cancelled, while several others will be partially curtailed through the day. The last local for Kasara before the block will leave CSMT at 8.33 am, and services will resume early Sunday morning.The disruption will also impact long-distance services. The CSMT-Dhule Express has been cancelled, while the Nanded-CSMT Express will terminate at Manmad and originate from there in the return direction.Several trains, including services to Gorakhpur, Banaras, Jayanagar and Firozpur, will be diverted via alternate routes such as Pune, Vasai Road and Nandurbar. Some trains will skip halts at Kalyan and be given additional halts at Bhiwandi Road.Multiple mail and express trains, including services to Amritsar, Howrah and Banaras, have been rescheduled to depart after midnight on April 26. A few trains will also be regulated en route, especially at Kasara and Igatpuri, leading to delays.Railway officials said trains running during the block may be delayed by 25-30 minutes due to congestion and operational adjustments.The block is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades to enhance capacity and improve safety on the busy Kalyan-Kasara corridor. Passengers have been advised to check revised schedules before travel.
