Hosp security guard caught accepting bribe for fitness certs | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mira Bhayander: The Palghar branch of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught a hospital security guard red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,600 on April 24. The trap was laid on the first floor of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Hospital in Bhayander (West). The complainant approached the ACB after the security guard, Amit Kini, told him that he would arrange the fitness certificate without the complainant undergoing any medical test. The complainant along with his eight friends had planned a religious trip to Amarnath and had visited the hospital to inquire about the compulsory health certificate (CHC) required for this trip, a press release issued by the ACB said. The accused, 43-year-old Amit Kini, said he would charge Rs 500 per certificate. After negotiations, the amount was brought down to Rs 400 per certificate, totalling to Rs 3,600 for nine of them. The ACB nabbed the guard while he was accepting the cash. The accused was then taken to Bhayander police station for further investigation. —Vishal Rajemahadik
