Actor Anupam Kher‘s resemblance to Mahatma Gandhi may not be missed. However, some scammers went a step further and replaced Gandhi with Anupam Kher’s face on some fake notes.
In Gujarat, fake currency notes worth Rs 1.60 crore were found and seized with Anupam Kher’s picture on it. These notes were counterfeit during a police operation. Earlier, a fake currency manufacturing unit was busted in Surat and four people were arrested on September 22.And now this scam comes into picture.
According to commissioner of Police, Rajdeep Nukum, this fake currency unit was inspired by Shahid Kapoor’s series ‘Farzi’. Meanwhile, as per reports, these fake notes which had Anupam Kher’s photo, also had ‘Resole Bank Of India’ on them instead of ‘Reserve Bank of India‘.
Kher has not yet reacted to this news. Meanwhile on work front, Anupam Kher will be seen next in Kangana Ranaut‘s ‘Emergency’. The film was supposed to release on September 6 but now has been fighting a battle with the censor board who refuses to give it certification.
In the last hearing at the Bombay High Court, the CBFC had said that they would give ‘Emergency’ a certificate only if they make some cuts. The makers of the movie had asked time to think over it. The next hearing is set to take place today, on Monday, September 30.
