Pune: All areas of the city, including merged areas, will face water cuts on Thursday. The PMC has planned repair and maintenance works at various water supply units, purification plants and overhead tanks. Supply will resume on Friday at low pressure, the civic body’s water supply department stated.Repairs are also planned at the Bhama Askhed water supply unit that provides water to the city’s eastern areas along Nagar Road. All localities where Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) supplies water through booster pumping will also remain affected on Thursday.Officials from the water supply department said that the water closure across the city has been planned for after a month. There is a plan to install meters at overhead tanks during the closure, besides which urgent repairs have been planned at Parvati, Holkar, Wadgaon and Khadakwasla jackwells.The overhead tanks and water supply units that will not supply water on Thursday include Parvati, Wadgaon, Rajiv Gandhi pumping station, Cantonment, Chandni Chowk, Warje, SNDT, Kondhwe-Dhawde and Bhama Askhed.
