Pune: The Nigdi police on Monday registered a case against a driver of a transport firm after 10 out of 234 cable boxes he was supposed to deliver went missing.The police registered a case pertaining to Section 316 (criminal breach of trust) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The incident took place between May 5 and 6, when the driver was instructed to deliver cable boxes worth Rs 97 lakh to Mumbai.During verification, it was found that 10 boxes worth Rs 10.54 lakh were missing. After following up for a month and failing to trace the missing boxes, the transport firm’s manager lodged a complaint with the Nigdi police.He suspected the driver’s involvement, as he was the only person present in the vehicle during transit.
