‘Devara’ Hindi box office: Jr NTR starrer sees 50 percent growth on Gandhi Jayanti | Hindi Movie News – Times of India


Jr NTR is one of the biggest superstars of Indian Cinema and with his latest film Devara he’s solidifying his position not only in Telugu speaking states but also in Hindi.

The film opened to a massive audience, thus minting Rs 82.50 crore on day 1 with Telugu version bringing in more than Rs 72 crore. But with each passing day the numbers of Telugu version were dipping while the Hindi version were on the rise.
In Hindi the film opened to Rs 7.5 crore on Friday, Saturday it hit Rs 9 crore and Sunday it was Rs 10.5 crore. On Monday the film was able to earn only Rs 4 crore and Tuesday it collected Rs 4.25 crore but on Wednesday which was national holiday on the account of Gandhi Jayanti, the film minted Rs 6.50 crore. This is a jump of more than 50 per cent, thus taking the Hindi 6 day total to Rs 41.75 crore, leaving behind Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT which released 4 weeks ago and is already streaming on OTT.

Devara’s total collection now stands at Rs 208.35 crore. The film marked the Telugu debut of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, while Bobby Deol has been roped in to play the antagonist for the second installment. The film features Jr NTR in a dual role of father-son, Devara and Vara.
Jr NTR will now be seen with Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani in Ayan Mukerji directed War 2.
