Chess World Cup Final 2023 , Game 2 Live Updates: It is big day for India. It is the day when Indian teen sensation R Praggnanandhaa will hope to cause an upset against World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in Baku, Azerbaijan in the final of Chess World Cup Final 2023. It is also the day when India’s Chandrayaan-3 will attempt to make history by landing on the moon. Praggnanandhaa drew the first game on Tuesday after playing with white pieces. Both Grandmasters are eyeing their maiden World Cup title. Earlier, Praggnanandhaa reached the final date with Carlsen beating world number three Fabiano Caruana of the USA in tiebreaks. The 18-year-old had defeated Caruana 3.5-2.5 to reach the final.

“Playing as White, the 18-year-old Indian prodigy, R Praggnanandhaa, couldn’t obtain a significant advantage over the former World Champion Carlsen,” the FIDE wrote in its official report. “Magnus Carlsen and R Praggnanandhaa split a point after a game which lasted 35 moves and around three hours.
“In the Four Knights line of the English Opening, R Praggnanandhaa (as White) went for a sharp line, putting pressure on the queenside, but Carlsen responded with a counter-push in the centre and comfortably equalised. In an even position, with three Kingside pawns and a knight and a rook each, the two decided to call it a day.”
