Pune: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in its preliminary investigation, suspects that a few selected students benefited from a leaked question paper allegedly provided by Shivraj Motegaonkar, the arrested director of RCC, a private coaching institute.On Tuesday, CBI officials questioned several students in Pune in connection with the case.Investigators are closely examining how the leaked question paper reached the students. Officials are probing whether they had prior access to the paper before the examination, who provided it to them and the entire chain of events surrounding the leak.“Three of the students questioned were from Motegaonkar’s RCC classes. The students appeared before the CBI, along with their parents. However, they were questioned separately to verify whether they had received access to the question paper through any source before the examination,” a CBI officer told TOI on condition of anonymity.The students were questioned for three to four hours. On Sunday, Motegaonkar was detained in Latur and brought to the CBI office on Alandi Road in Pune. He was questioned for nearly 12 hours before being arrested and taken to Delhi on Monday.On Monday, some students and their parents had also visited the CBI office.
