Pune: A man (30) suffered severe burns to his face, eyes and chest after his father (62) threw acid at him in their home near Paud Road in Kothrud around 8am on Thursday.The victim lodged a complaint with the Kothrud police on Friday evening.Senior inspector Sandeep Deshmane of Kothrud police told TOI, “We have registered a case of causing grievous hurt against the 62-year-old man and served him a notice to cooperate with the investigation. The injured man works as a housekeeping staffer with a company.”Deshmane said, “The elder man, who has been a daily wage worker, was demanding money from his son. The victim had refused to give him money. This led to a fight between the both of them late on Wednesday night.”“Next morning, the man was sleeping in his bed when his father woke him up and picked up a bottle of acid before throwing acid at the victim’s face. The victim had earlier taken a bottle of acid, which is used to clean tiles and toilets, home,” he said.“The victim was then admitted to a private hospital,” Deshmane said.
