Zayed Khan recently shared the story of his marriage to Malaika Parekh in an interview, revealing that they had a secret wedding before hosting a grand celebration. He emphasised the importance of privacy, inviting only close friends and family to the intimate ceremony. The couple, who had an interfaith marriage in 2005, are now proud parents of two children.
The actor recently appeared on Amrita Rao and RJ Anmol’s podcast “Couple of Things,” where he opened up about his marriage to Malaika Parekh. He talked about his marriage, ‘I never talked about this before. There were 2000 names in our wedding guest list. The only thing going on in my mind was whether this was a wedding or a circus. So we called only 30 friends and told them that we are going to Taj Village in Goa. There is a surprise for everyone there.’
Khan further said, ‘Malaika arranged the wedding and the pandit in a very sweet way. And we had a pre-marriage ceremony at Taj Village in Goa. We took our seven vows and it was a very lovely destination wedding. We really wanted to make our wedding memorable. Wanted to have fun. And were married before the official wedding.’
Zayed mentioned that while his family celebrates every festival and respects all religions, he encountered some challenges during his wedding. He said, “We come from a family that embraces all religions and believes in all gods. I didn’t know the customs of Hindu weddings, so I asked Malaika to guide me on what to do.”
