‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ released with ‘Jigra‘ on October 11. The Rajkummar Rao starrer did enjoy an edge over the Alia Bhatt movie as it was more massy in its nature. Hence, it did better in the areas like Delhi, UP among others. However, much more was expected out of it, considering it had that mass appeal. It was meant to do better in other two-tier, three-tier cities and also centres like Gujarat and Maharashtra. The film had a decent start at the box office but it kept seeing a gradual dip.
In its entire week 2, from Monday onwards, it saw a slow downfall in the numbers and made in the Rs 1 crore mark each day. On Friday though, it had seen a further drop and only made Rs 65 lakh. But the good news is, it saw a jump on Saturday and made around Rs 1.20 crore. The total collection of the film so far is Rs 39 crore. One hopes that on Sunday, the numbers are even higher than Saturday.
‘Vicky Vidya..’ only has some more days left to make the most of its run at the box office as on November 1, ‘Singham Again‘ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘ will release amidst the Diwali festivities.
In the upcoming week, the movie may be expected to get a total of another Rs 1 crore or Rs 1.5 crore. Thus, it may end up with a lifetime collection of around Rs 42 crore which will be less than Rajkummar’s film ‘Srikanth’.
