Nashik: Three people riding two separate bikes were injured after a car hit them from behind on the Nashik Trimbak Road around 3.30am on Sunday.The Satpur police registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the car driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Senior inspector Prakash Ahire said the accident took place near the ITI signal in Satpur. Police said the three victims were riding their two bikes towards the Satpur side when a 39-year-old man, a resident of Indiranagar, hit the two bikes from behind.Police said the impact was so severe that the victims were tossed in the air and their vehicles were completely mangled. The injured were identified as Swapnil Patil, and two food delivery boys, Mohan Jadhav and Lalit More.As the accident spot was a few hundred metres from the Satpur police station, police said they immediately reached the spot after receiving information, shifted the injured to the Nashik civil hospital and detained the car driver.The Satpur police said they took the car driver to the hospital to check if he was driving under the influence of alcohol. His blood samples were taken and the reports would arrive soon.Police said the condition of the injured was stable. Constable Kishor Bendkule is investigating the case.
