‘Stree 2’ box office collection 25: The Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer becomes 2nd highest grossing Hindi movie ever, beats ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Pathaan’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Stree 2‘ is enjoying a great run at the box office despite completing its fourth weekend. The Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao starrer had released on August 15 and the fourth Saturday and Sunday business of the movie has now made it the 2nd highest grossing Hindi movie ever. The film has now beated ‘Gadar 2‘ and ‘Pathaan‘ and only ‘Jawan‘ remains to be beaten now.
The film remained unaffected despite Ganpati visarjan on Sunday and yet saw a growth when compared to the Saturday numbers.On all the weekdays in week 3, ‘Stree 2’ collected in the range of Rs 5-6 crore on each day. But it saw a jump on Saturday and made around Rs 8.5 crore. On Sunday, which was day 25, the film saw a further growth and clocked in Rs 10.75 crore. The total collection of the film so far, in India, is Rs 527 crore.
With this, it remains now on the second position and beats the record of ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Pathaan’. One expects that by the end of week 4, it will beat ‘Jawan’ also which is at the number 1 spot with around 640 crore net in India. Time will tell if ‘Stree 2’ will be able to cross this record. The film got an empty window even this Friday and weekend as Kangana Ranaut‘s ‘Emergency‘ was delayed due to certification issues.
Now that the censor board has cleared the film with U/A certificate, it’s set to release soon. Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘The Buckingam Murders’ is also releasing on September 13, and ‘Stree 2’ may face competition from both these female-dominated movies.
