Navi Mumbai: A sedan, driven by a garage mechanic, lost control and crashed into the road median at Palm Beach road in Vashi, landed on the opposite lane and rammed into another sedan. No casualty was reported.Shashikant Chandekar, senior inspector of Vashi informed that the car driver, working at a garage in Ghansoli, took the customer’s sedan for a long drive with his two friends on Friday past midnight. While, both the sedans were severely damaged, the occupants escaped with minor injuries. Chandekar said, “Both the drivers told that they did not want to lodge a police complaint as they resolved the matter amicably. However, we will be registering a suo motu cognizance for the offence under the Motor Vehicle Act against the mechanic since the mishap was due to reckless driving and could have been fatal.
