Samantha Ruth Prabhu recalls meeting Priyanka Chopra in London and her Hollywood aspirations: ‘She is a great role model for us’ – Times of India

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared her excitement about being part of global spy universe, Citadel and her memorable interactions with powerhouse actresses like Priyanka Chopra and Italian star Matilda De Angelis. Speaking about the concept of Citadel, Samantha revealed the ambitious vision behind it and how Prime Video Head Jennifer Salke conceptualized an interconnected world of spies spanning multiple countries.
“The first season is based in the US, the second in Italy, followed by India, and next will be Mexico. It’s brilliant,” she explained in an interview with Business Today, adding that it’s a unique opportunity for Indian actors to be part of a global storyline without having to leave the country.
Samantha also recalled a memorable Women of Citadel press junket in London, where she got the chance to connect with Priyanka Chopra, who stars in the US version of the show. Praising Priyanka as a role model, Samantha shared, “Priyanka Chopra was truly amazing. It was called the Women of Citadel. I think Priyanka Chopra is a great role model for us girls, and she really teaches us to think big. It was really nice to catch up with these girls who are powerhouses. They have done incredible work on their own Citadel shows.”

On her Hollywood aspirations, Samantha believes it’s a promising time for actors globally. “I think it’s a great time to be an actor right now. There is inclusivity and people speak about it in every room that I have been to, so I don’t think that it’s too far from reality. This is also a time when women are supporting women and are growing larger and stronger,” she noted.

Samantha features in Citadel: Honey Bunny, alongside Varun Dhawan. Directed by Raj and DK, the series also stars Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, Sikander Kher among others. The six-episode show released on Prime Video on November 6.
