It has been a challenging few years for Salman Khan, and a even more challenging last few weeks. The actor, who has always been in the eye of a storm, invited the wrath of the Bishnoi community, way back in 1998, because of a blackbuck hunting incident in Jodhpur. While it has never been clear what actually transpired that day, but the actor was with a few of his Hum Saath Saath Hain co-stars when the incident took place.
Earlier this month (October 12), veteran politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Though police investigation is still underway, multiple reports say that Baba was murdered since he was close to Salman Khan. However, the police has not yet established a direct link on the case, though Salman received fresh death threats from the gang recently. In the meanwhile, there has been a mixed reaction to Salman’s dilemma, with some suggesting he should apologise to the Bishnoi community, to others maintaining he has not done anything wrong. We take a closer look at the same…
Somy Ali wants to have a call with Lawrence Bishnoi?
Salman Khan’s ex girlfriend Somy Ali had said a few days ago that she wants to meet Lawrence Bishnoi over a zoom call. This had come, right after politician Baba Siddiqui was murdered and Salman was getting fresh death threats. While many thought, Somy said this to harm Salman or for her own publicity, she has now clarified on the same. She has revealed that she wants to meet Lawrence and explain to him on Salman’s behalf. Somy also doesn’t see a reason for Salman to apologise to him.
She clarified her stance in an interview with Aaj Tak. She said in Hindi, “All I want is that no one gets murdered. I have no benefit from this. I don’t want any publicity. But I don’t want anyone to get murdered. Whoever is my neighbour, whoever is someone’s friend, no one should get murdered. No one should harm anyone. I am against violence. I have gone on many hunting trips with Salman. I will meet Lawrence Bishnoi in November.”
Somy further revealed that when she had spoken to Salman, he told her that he wasn’t aware that the Black Buck was worshipped. For those not in the know, Salman has been accused of killing the black buck during the shoot of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’.

Somy said, “I don’t want Salman’s family or friends, Kajol, Tabu, Ajay Devgan, Raveena or Saif to be harmed. We have law and justice, so what is this that Salman should apologize? No one should be murdered. This is wrong. That’s why I want Lawrence to talk to me. I will explain to him that this is wrong. When I come there in November for vacation, I want to talk to Devendra, who is the leader of the Bishnoi gang. Because Lawrence bewakoof hai (Lawrence is an idiot). When I set him right, I will apologize to him in Salman’s name. Salman told me that he didn’t know that the Bishnoi community worships the Black Buck. It is an 80-acre land, many people go there. It is not that only Salman has gone there till date, so why is he after only him? He only wants publicity. Salman is a good person.”
Anup Jalota wants him to apologise
In a recent conversation with ABP News, Bhajan Samrat Anup Jalota commented on the ongoing situation involving Salman Khan and the demands made by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He stated that the question of whether or not Salman actually killed the blackbuck should be set aside.
Instead, Jalota emphasized that Salman should go to the temple of the Bishnoi community to apologize, suggesting that this is no longer a matter of personal pride or ego.
Salim Khan said his son has not killed the blackbuck
Salim Khan, the father of Salman Khan, has adamantly declared that his son has no need to apologize to the Bishnoi community, because he never killed the blackbuck, despite the star being threatened by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. Salim Khan recently said that the threats were merely a case of extortion over the years. Over the past year, Salman has received an increasing number of death threats; the situation has gotten worse recently, especially in the wake of Baba Siddique’s assassination.
During an interview with ABP News, Salim Khan shared, “Mafi mangna, ye accept karna hai ki maine maara hai. Salman ney kabhi kisi jaanwar ko nahi maara. Humne kabhi kisi coackroach ko bhi nahi maara. Hum inn cheejo me believe hi nhi karte (Apologising means admitting. Salman never killed any animal. We have never even killed any cockroach. We do not believe in these things).”
He further questioned, “Salman kissey jaake maafi maangey? Aapne kitne logo sey maafi mangi hai, kitne jaanwaro ki aapne jaan bachai hai? (Who should Salman apologise to? How many people have you apologised to, how many animals’ lives have you saved?)”
Salim Khan then went on to defend his son’s innocence by saying that Salman had not committed any crime. He further added, “Koi gunaah kiya hai? Aapne dekha hai? Aapko maloom hai, jaanch padtaal ki hai? Humne toh kabhi bandook bhi use nahi ki (Has he committed any crime? Have you seen him? Have you investigated the matter? We have never even used a gun).”
He also said, “Salman ney kaha main to tha bhi nahi us time, usko nahi shauk jaanwar maarne ka wo jaanwaro sey mohabbat karta hai (He wasn’t there at the time. He loves animals).”
Mika comes out in Bhai’s support
While performing at a recent event, Mika came out in huge support of the superstar. The singer has lent his voice to some of Salman’s hit songs, including ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ and ‘Dhinka Chika’. Mika dedicated songs to Salman during the performance of his well-known song Ganpat from the movie ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’. He responded to the threats during his performance by saying, “Salman Khan ke liye ek line hai, ‘Bhai hu mein bhai, tu fikar na kar. Uski maa ki, uski behen ki, jo dekhe idhar. Aapun ko bata de kabhi ho gaye phantar. Sabki ph*tni apane naam se apun jaye jidhar.’”
Salman Khan’s admirers praised Mika for her audacious move and showered the singer and actor with supportive remarks. One fan called Mika “a true friend,” while “this man deserves a heart,” said another.
