Veteran star Atul Parchure, who had made a mark in Bollywood and Marathi cinema with his impeccable comedic timing and versatile performances, breathed his last on October 14 at the age of 57. According to reports, he passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Since the news of his passing, friends, family, and colleagues have been sharing their grief and paying tribute to the beloved actor.Among those mourning his loss is actor-director Sachin Pilgaonkar, who expressed his sorrow over the loss of his long-time friend and co-star.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the ‘Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi’ star shared his heartfelt memories and his close bond with the veteran actor. Expressing the deep sense of loss felt his passing, Pilgaonkar said, “Atul was very close to me and my wife Supriya. It’s a big loss to the industry today. He was an amazing human being.”
“I met him three months ago, he was not keeping well. We will miss his presence in our life.” Sachin concluded.
Meanwhile, Supriya Pilgaonkar also paid tribute to Parchure by sharing a heartfelt message on Instagram. Alongside a picture of the late actor, she wrote, “Dear friend shouldn’t have been like this, you fought a lot! You have tolerated a lot. You will always be missed. Your silly smile will always be missed. May your soul rest in peace and the strength to endure the pain of the family…”
Atul Parchure leaves behind a remarkable legacy in both Marathi and Bollywood cinema. Known for his impeccable comic timing and versatile performances, he shared the screen with leading stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Ajay Devgn.
