Rohman Shawl and Sushmita Sen were dating for a few years before they broke up. However, even in the post where they announced that their relationship no longer exists, they clarified that they were friends and will continue to be. That friendship is evident still as Rohman is often spotted with Sen and is always by her side taking care of her, after she suffered a heart-attack.
Sushmita had suffered an attack, post which, she got a stent fit in her heart. In a recent interview, Rohman has said that it really affected him. He said in a chat with Hindustan Times, “When something like that happens, the first thing is you’re just numb because you don’t know what just hit you. But then the person who is going through it, also matters a lot, because of how they take it. And she took it so well. We didn’t even realize that something that grave has happened. That’s the beauty of that person.” He further added that it impacted him in a way that he started taking care of himself more. “
Rohman further said, “I didn’t use to take my health so seriously before, but when something like that happens, it makes you also introspect. I started getting regular checkups for myself and my loved ones. Health has become a priority, for me and my close ones.”
He also spoke about how he got fame because of her, but he neither did he allow it to get into his head, nor did he ever shy away from the fact. “All this never baffled me because I was a supermodel before, but I got this kind of limelight because of her. When I got this fame, I always knew it wasn’t because of me. So, I never really cared about it. This love is for somebody else, and I must appreciate it, but it couldn’t go to my head because people didn’t know me yet. So, I always kept a distance from it because I knew this is not my thing to take, ye kisi aur ki mehnat pe hai, aur main uspe aish nahi karne wala,” said the model-turned-actor.
Rohman made his film debut recently with ‘Amaran’ wherein he got a lot of love and appreciation for playing the antagonist in the film. The kind of love he’s getting for his performance is overwhelming. The actor said he still cannot believe it and is trying to cope with it.
