Rashmika Mandanna REVEALS her initial reaction to being offered Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Chhaava’: ‘How can you think about me playing a Maharashtrian queen?’ | – Times of India

Rashmika Mandanna, who will soon be seen sharing screenspace with Vicky Kaushal in ‘Chhaava‘, recently opened up about her initial reaction being offered the film.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Rashmika shared her reaction when she first heard the script for Chhaava. She recalled being initially unsure about playing a Maharashtrian queen, thinking it was a big leap for her as she was from the South. However, after hearing the script, she immediately knew she wanted to be part of the film and didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Rashmika also shared her surprise about her transformation for Chhaava during the look test. She was amazed to see that not only did she resemble a Maharashtrian queen, but her facial features, body language, and overall style also perfectly suited the role, something she hadn’t expected.

The actress also praised her co-star Vicky and director Laxman Utekar for their exceptional work on Chhaava. She was in awe of Vicky’s performance, saying he truly excelled, and expressed deep admiration for Laxman’s direction, calling their craft amazing and leaving her completely impressed.
Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, tells the story of the courageous Maratha king Sambhaji. Initially set to clash with Pushpa 2 at the box office, the film’s release date was later moved to February 14, 2024.
