It’s celebration time for the Kapoor and also Hindi cinema as it’s 100 years of ‘The Showman’ Raj Kapoor. The Kapoor family have decided to celebrate the occasion in a grand way as many of Kapoor’s films are re-releasing in cinemas. Ranbir also started this project of restoring films of his grandfather Raj Kapoor along with NFDC, NFAI, his uncle Kunal Kapoor and the Film Heritage Foundation. He had said recently at IFFI Goa, “We have done 10 films so far and we have much more to do. I am really hopeful you guys will check out his work because there are so many people who haven’t seen his work.”
Meanwhile, in order to mark this grand occasion now, the Kapoor family is meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. One spotted Kareena Kapoor Khan along with Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor at the private airport in Kalina. They jetted off to Delhi, to meet the PM regarding 100 years of Raj Kapoor.
They all looked stunning as they were dressed in ethnic attires. Neetu and Karisma were seen twinning in ivory anarkalis.
Meanwhile, Kareena opted for a red kurta set with floral print. Saif look dapper as always in a kurta pyjama and waist coat.
Ranbir and Alia made a gorgeous pair as Ranbir wore a bandhgala and Alia opted for a red saree.
A festival will be held from December 13 to December 15 Raj Kapoor’s iconic movies will be shown. Ranbir further spoke about the reason why they’re doing so. He said, “I remember the first time I met Alia (Bhatt), she asked me, ‘Who is Kishore Kumar?’ It’s just the circle of life. People are forgotten and then newer artiste come. So, I think it’s very important that we remember our roots. Not just Mr Raj Kapoor, there are so many filmmakers and artistes that we should constantly celebrate.”
