Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for the release of his next movie ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘, however, the success of ‘Stree 2‘ will surely be hanging around him for a while. Fans cannot get over the movie, the dialogues and its songs. The actor is enjoying immense popularity and looks like this euphoria is here to stay for a bit. Amidst this, the actor has now opened up about his views on success and failure of a film.He also gave examples and revealed what matters to him as an actor.
During an interview with India Today, Rajkummar said, “As an actor, for me, the most important thing is that the film has to be good. I should be part of films that are cherished and loved by the people who watch it. Whether those people watching my films are two or two lakh, they eventually have to enjoy watching my film and that’s what ultimately matters to me, as I should be proud of the film.”
Rajkummar is elated with the box office success of the movie. He added, “What certainly can’t be matched is the feeling of a good film doing exceptionally well at the box office too. This feeling is the most gratifying because, as an actor, you are aware that you have delivered a good performance. The film has turned out to be amazing and now when it’s open for the audiences, they have really enjoyed it too – this feeling then is surreal.”
Having said that, he pointed out that there are times when a movie may not be able to do well at the box office, but it remains special to him. There was a film titled ‘Trapped’ which had a limited release but Raj feels very proud of it. He’s equally proud of that film as he is of perhaps ‘Stree 2’. He confessed that ‘Trapped’ will be on the top of his filmography always and he takes pride in it.
“On the other hand, there are films like Bareilly Ki Barfi, Badhaai Do, Stree, Mr and Mrs Mahi, Srikanth that people also love and appreciate simultaneously. When you give your heart and soul to a film, to your character and people end up liking that, appreciating that and give you love for all of your hard work and your sincerity, I feel that this is the biggest of it all that matters to me,” said the actor.
‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ which sees Rajkummar with Triptii Dimri is set for release on October 11 and it will clash with Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’.
