Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that his government has proved that development projects can be completed in a time-bound manner. He was speaking after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating multiple developmental projects in Pune today.

Prime Minister said that the urban population in India is likely to touch 60 crores by 2030, which is throwing up opportunities as well as challenges. There are limits on developing transport infrastructure like flyovers and widening of roads in a city hence mass transportation like Metro Rail is the only option, he said. Modi especially appealed to the learned people to make it a habit to use Metro services, which will ultimately benefit their city.

Prime Minister exhorted that the government is moving ahead with a vision of more greener transport, electric buses, electric cars and electric two-wheelers, integrated command centers, best management systems, and the sewage plants making the cities water-plus. He congratulated the Pune residents for the development projects, which will increase their ease of living.
