Priyanka Chopra unveils first trailer of Marathi film ‘Paani’; Aamir Khan makes special appearance – WATCH | – Times of India

Priyanka Chopra has officially dropped the first trailer for her Marathi production ‘Paani‘, a film that addresses the crucial issue of water scarcity.
Sharing the trailer on her social media platforms, Chopra captioned it, “This is more than a story – it’s a fight for survival.”
Directed by Adinath Kothare, ‘Paani’ is set in the drought-stricken village of Nagderwadi, Nanded, Maharashtra.The clip starring Subodh Bhave, Kishore Kadam, Adinath Kothare, and Rucha Vaidya, wastest no time in diving straight to the issue of water scarcity in a drought-stricken village.
The trailer begins with people abandoning their homes in villages and moving to the city to survive the water crisis. However, those who stay back decide to put up a fight and search for a spring. Besides highlighting the plight of the people of the village, the trailer also hints that the film will see a romantic story blossoming amidst the drought.

Also making a special appearance in the film, is Bollywood star Aamir Khan. Instead of playing a character in the film, he appears as himself, on the TV show, believed to be ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

Last month, Priyanka shared the first poster of the film, and expressed her excitement saying, “This is very, very special. Our Marathi feature film ‘Paani’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October.”

On the work front, Priyanka will also be seen in the Hollywood films like ‘The Bluff’ and ‘Heads of State’. The actress who is currently holidaying in France, is expected to begin work on the second season of her spy action thriller ‘Citadel‘. The Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel’, titled ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, features Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is set to premiere on November 7.
