Priyanka’s father Ashok Chopra passed away in 2013 due to cancer. The actress recently attended the Red Sea Film Festival and opened up on it during a conversation with Pinkvilla. PC said, “So, I went back to work four days after his funeral because I know that’s what my dad wanted me to do, and I put all my grief into those fight scenes.” The actress admitted to shooting for brutal fight scenes everyday. After that, she shot for ‘Gunday‘ with Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
The actress further added that Sanjay Leela Bhansali who was the producer of ‘Mary Kom’ came to her father’s funeral and gave her a warm hug. He assured her that she should not be in a hurry to return to work. He said that they will wait for her whenever she is ready. However, PC felt that her father would never want her to stop working, hence she resumed work immediately and fulfilled her commitments.
The actress then was directed by Bhansali in ‘Bajirao Mastani’. She revealed that she bagged her Hollywood series ‘Quantico’ when she was shooting for this epic saga.
