Mumbai: A police housing project meant to provide ownership homes to Mumbai police personnel has been in limbo for 16 years, prompting legislative council chairman Ram Shinde to take cognisance of it in the House on Tuesday. He directed the cooperation minister to submit a detailed report in a month and called for a meeting of all stakeholders before the session ends. Raising the issue, MLC Amol Mitkari said after the ‘gharkul scheme’ was announced in 2010, 122 acres of land was bought in Panvel, and Rs 50 crore collected from police personnel for registration.
