Mundhwa land deal: Next hearing of Amadea’s appeal on April 6 | Pune News – The Times of India

Pune: The Inspector General of Registration (IGR) on Monday posted the next hearing of Amadea Enterprises LLP’s appeal against the Rs21-crore stamp duty shortfall and penalty demand on April6, after the firm sought more time to submit documents.State IGR officials said the lawyers representing the firm sought at least a month’s time to collect certain government documents. “The IGR set April 6 as the next date of hearing,” an official from the registration department said. The appeal relates to the controversial registration of a sale deed between Amadea and power of attorney (PoA)-holder Sheetal Tejwani for around 40 acres of government land in Mundhwa. Suspended registrar R B Taru was accused of illegally waiving the stamp duty in the transaction.Amadea Enterprises LLP — in which Digvijay Patil and Parth Pawar, son of deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar, are partners — was told to pay a stamp duty shortfall of Rs21 crore for the sale deed executed in May 2025. A statutory penalty of 1% per month is applicable under the Maharashtra Stamp Act until the dues are paid.Amadea Enterprises LLP filed the appeal after the Feb 10 deadline to clear the stamp duty shortfall and the penalty related to the Mundhwa land registration expired. The first hearing took place on Feb 16.Officials clarified that no waiver of stamp duty had been granted and the matter was quasi-judicial in nature. “The IGR is legally required to grant a hearing after the firm contested the demand notice, and refused to accept the liability and the penalty. Any further decision would be taken after the hearing is complete,” a senior official said.
