Mourning Riteish Deshmukh calls for justice after Baba Siddique’s tragic death | Hindi Movie News – Times of India


Baba Siddique, former Maharashtra minister and a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was tragically shot and killed on the evening of October 12, 2024, in Bandra East, Mumbai. The shocking incident occurred outside his son, Zeeshan Siddique‘s office, where he was ambushed by three unidentified assailants. Despite being rushed to Lilavati Hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival.
This brutal act has sent ripples of grief through the political landscape and the Bollywood community, where Siddique was well-known for his close relationships with numerous stars.The news of Siddique’s death has prompted an outpouring of condolences from various celebrities who had the privilege of knowing him.
Riteish Deshmukh has expressed his sorrow on X, stating, “Extremely saddened and shocked beyond words to learn about the tragic demise of Shri #BabaSiddique ji. My heart goes out to @zeeshan_iyc and the entire family. May God give them strength to brave this difficult time. The perpetrators of this horrific crime must be brought to justice”
Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan, both close associates of Siddique, were also seen arriving at Lilavati Hospital shortly after the news broke. Dutt was among the first to arrive, followed closely by Khan. Other Bollywood personalities, including Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, also came to pay their respects. Shilpa Shetty was visibly shaken by the loss and was seen leaving the hospital in tears.
Krishna Hegde, a former MLA who had collaborated with Siddique for over 35 years, also paid tribute to his friend. He shared insights about Siddique’s deep connections within Bollywood, which began with his friendship with the late Sunil Dutt. “Baba was first close to Sunil Dutt and later with Sanjay Dutt and Priya Dutt. Like many of us, he had close ties with their family. He was also close to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan,” Hegde explained.
He emphasized that Siddique played a significant role in bridging the gap between politics and Bollywood in Mumbai.
