Pune: A 42-year-old motorcyclist died after he was run over by a truck at Chinchwad on Monday afternoon. The Nigdi police have arrested the truck driver on the charge of causing death by negligence.The police have identified the deceased as Subhash Ovhal of Sane Chowk. An officer from the Nigdi police said that the accident happened around 11.30 am, when Ovhal was heading towards Bird Valley Chowk in Chinchwad from Thermax Chowk. In an attempt to overtake Ovhal’s motorcycle, the truck hit it. Ovhal fell down and came under the wheels of the same heavy vehicle. “He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors,” the officer said.
