Mamta Kulkarni has returned to India after 25 years. The actress, who made headlines for controversial reasons in the 90s, recently came back to the city.
Now, in an interview with CNN-News18, Mamta opened up about her relationship with Vicky Goswami, stating that he is not her husband. She also revealed that she is still unmarried.
The actress clarified that she is not married to Vicky Goswami and is still single. She acknowledged having had a relationship with him in the past but mentioned that she had blocked him four years ago.
Mamta spoke about Vicky, describing him as a good person with a kind heart. She explained that many from the film industry used to visit him, and she did the same. However, after learning the truth about him, she decided to distance herself. Mamta shared that she had tried to help him when he was in a Dubai jail by meditating for his release, and he was freed in 2012. She met him again in 2016, but after his subsequent arrest, she moved on, considering him part of her past.
Vicky Goswami was imprisoned in Dubai in 1997 for 10 years on charges of illegal drug trafficking. It is reported that Mamta Kulkarni frequently visited him in jail, and the two got married while he was still incarcerated.
In 2016, the Thane Police reportedly named Mamta as one of the individuals involved in supplying ephedrine for the illegal production of methamphetamine. The drugs were intended for a Rs 2000 crore international drug racket and gangster trafficking operation.
In January 2016, it was reported that Mamta, along with her partner Vicky Goswami and other co-accused, attended a meeting related to an international drug ring in Kenya.
Mamta Kulkarni appeared in several successful Hindi films, including Ram Lakhan, Waqt Hamara Hai, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Andolan, and Baazi. Her last Bollywood film was released in 2002. In November 2023, her 1995 film Karan Arjun, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Kajol, was re-released in theaters.
