Any loss can be recovered, but a loss of life creates a void that can never be filled. Experiencing such a loss leaves a mark, a wound. However, as they say, the show must go on, and just like that as the dust settles on the ashes of the lost ones, life tries to pick up pace. Something similar is happening with actress Malaika Arora who lost her father Anil Mehta in September this year. Almost a month after the tragic incident, the actress returned to work. According to Malaika, resuming work helped her heal her mental health.
In a statement made to the media, Malaika mentioned moving forward is what her father would have wanted. Of course, it wasn’t easy to move on, but it was important. “We all need to keep moving forward… that’s what my father would have wanted for me. I’m grateful for the time I took to process the loss. It wasn’t easy, but it’s important to give ourselves space to heal. Coming back to work helps me stay focused, balance my mental health, and gives me the clarity to take care of my mother and family,” she said.
Malaika is juggling several projects as we speak. She is busy traveling and shooting for brands, at the same time, she is set to appear in a dance reality show. Reports suggest that soon she will be seen in a startup-based series as a business investor. In addition to this, she has a special something in the pipeline, which will be a tribute to her father.
“I’m thrilled about the brands I’m working with and excited to explore my creative side. I’m also working on something special that I will announce soon—it’s going to be an ode to my father,” the actress shared.
Malaika lost her father on September 11 in Mumbai. He allegedly fell off the balcony of his house and the police ruled it suicide. Malaika was not in the city when the tragedy struck her family, but her close friends and Bollywood stars quickly came forward to support her.
