Madhuri Dixit on marrying Shriram Nene and quitting films at the peak of her career: ‘I was living my dream’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit recently opened up about her decision to marry Dr. Shriram Nene and leave the limelight at the peak of her career in 1999.
Speaking to Galatta India, the actress reflected on her life-changing choice and how she never looked back with regret.
Madhuri, who moved to Colorado after her marriage and spent over a decade living a quiet life away from stardom, said, “I was very happy because for me, the paraphernalia was not very important. I loved acting, dancing, and everything about my profession, but the fame and attention were just bonuses. I never saw myself as someone who had to stay in the public eye.”
She revealed that marrying Shriram Nene felt like the fulfillment of her personal aspirations. “I met the right person for me. This is the man I want to marry. Everybody dreams for themselves, and for me, it was about having a house, a husband, a family, and kids. I love kids, so having them was a big part of my dream,” Madhuri shared.
When asked if she ever missed being in the spotlight during her years in Colorado, the Dhak Dhak star expressed no regrets. “People ask, ‘Didn’t you miss it?’ I didn’t, because I was living my dream,” she said.
Madhuri, who returned to India in 2011 with her husband and two sons, Arin and Ryan, has seamlessly balanced her personal and professional lives since.
On the work front, she was recently seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘.
