Land for NHs: 57 new arbitrators | Mumbai News – The Times of India

Mumbai: The Centre has appointed 57 new arbitrators in the state to ensure quick disposal of long-pending land acquisition cases related to national highway projects. The move will help clear over 28,000 pending claims for enhanced compensation. Some cases have been pending for over three years. Hearings were earlier held by district collectors. Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said dedicated arbitrators have been appointed in Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Amravati and Nagpur divisions. TNN
