Kajol opens up about death hoaxes: “My mother once got a call saying my plane had crashed” | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Bollywood actress Kajol has recently recalled the distressing moment when she faced multiple death hoaxes throughout her acting career.
While on the Great Indian Kapil Show, Kajol candidly spoke about how these false reports haunted her many times over the years and surprised her co-stars Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh.
It was a while ago when the veteran actress Tanuja, Kajol’s mother, got a call that her daughter’s plane had crashed. “This has happened many times. This used to happen before social media as well. Someone called my mother at home and told her that my plane had crashed,” shared Kajol, mentioning that such news was more traumatic due to the unavailability of instant communication facilities back then. “It happens, roughly every five to ten years,” she adds to this pattern of rumors.Kajol also said that recently there was this viral video further stating she is no more. “One of the weirdest things,” she said. “It is sick,” she added with the persistence of such rumors.
She mentioned that she doesn’t feel the need to Google herself, as her friends and family often inform her about any strange news before she has the chance to look it up.
“Someone or the other would forward me the news and say, ‘Look! There’s some strange news about you! What’s happening?” she said.
On the work front, Kajol’s recent outing is the thriller ‘Do Patti’ where she plays the role of a cop.
