Pune: The Bhosari MIDC police on Saturday registered a case of attempted extortion against four men from Moshi after they allegedly damaged a woman’s house when she refused to give them Rs 2,000.According to the police, the accused, who live in the same locality, pelted stones at the woman’s house. The woman suffered injuries after being hit by a stone. Her son later lodged a complaint with the police.“The four accused on Friday night went to the woman’s house and demanded Rs 2,000 from her. When she refused to pay, the men allegedly began abusing her. They pelted bricks and stones at her house. One of the stones struck the woman on her face,” an officer from the Bhosari MIDC Police said.The officer added that the windowpanes of the woman’s house were also damaged in the incident. When neighbours rushed to help, the accused allegedly threatened them, claiming they were the “bhai” of the area.“We have ascertained the identities of all four accused. Further investigations are underway,” the officer said.
