Every time Rekha is spotted for any event or a social gathering, fans cannot stop gushing over her style, elegance, grace and beauty. However, fans want to see her on-screen as she hasn’t done a movie for a while. Hence, it was quite a delight to spot the legendary actress shooting. ETimes exclusively caught a glimpse of the actress at Filmistan Studios in the city. She was dressed in an all pink outfit with heavy jewellery and was accompanied by her close friend and manager Farzana. These photos were captured by ETimes photographer Nilesh Wairkar.
However, before everyone gets too excited, let us clarify that she was not shooting for any new movie. A source told ETimes, that the actress was shooting for a dance performance for an award show. This award function had happened a few days ago where the actress had performed live. But there was some more patch work shoot which needed to happen and the actress was shooting for that, before the award show airs on television.
Rekha was last seen in a movie in 2014, titled ‘Super Nani’. Since then, one hasn’t seen her on the big screen. She’s made appearances on television shows and various award functions though. In a recent interview with Vogue Arabia, the ‘Umrao Jaan’ actress had stated the reason for her absence from movies.
She had said, “Whether I make films or not, it never leaves me. I have my memories to relive what I love. And when the time is right, the right project will find me. My person is my own, but my cinematic persona is in the eyes of the beholder. Therefore I choose where I want to be and where I don’t want to be. I am so blessed to have earned the right to choose what I love. And to have the luxury to simply say no.”
