Charithra Chandran, known for her role in the Regency romance drama ‘Bridgerton‘, has shared the first look at her next big venture- an exciting role in HBO’s new series ‘Dune: Prophecy‘.
Chandran, who played Edwina Sharma in the second season of the hit Bridgerton Series, revealed in her latest Instagram post that she will portray the younger version of the character, Sister Francesca, in the highly anticipated show.
The actress revealed her character poster and wrote, “Young Francesca. The new HBO Original Series #DuneProphecy premieres this November on Max.”
Interestingly, the older version of this character will be played by Indian actress Tabu. Set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise to power, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ chronicles the journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they establish the Bene Gesserit sect. According to reports, Sister Francesca was once the Emperor’s great love. Her return to the palace disrupts the balance of power in the capital. Tabu described her character as “intriguing, intelligent, and emotionally powerful.”
Inspired by ‘Sisterhood of Dune’, the novel by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, ‘Dune: Prophecy’ explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit. The series boasts an impressive cast that includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, and Mark Strong, among others.
The series premieres this November on Max.
