Navi Mumbai: The APMC police detained a 46-year-old man, who under the influence of alcohol, had dialled the police control room helpline number on Tuesday around noon and claimed that there will be bomb blasts in Mumbai.Ajay Shinde, senior inspector of APMC police station said, “The accused identified as Tufan Sheikh was traced by tracking his mobile tower location. He had dialled from near Visava hotel in sector 19, APMC area. Considering the sensitivity of the case, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) was also summoned. He was traced and apprehended. He claimed that under the influence of alcohol, he made a hoax call of bomb blast. He works as a contract worker in APMC area. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of BNS for the offence of false information, public mischief and criminal intimidation. As per the provision of the law, he has been served with a BNSS notice and released.”
