‘Devara: Part 1’ starring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan which had released in cinemas on September 27, did an average business at the box office. The film was appreciated for its grandeur, treatment and VFX. Not to mention, the actors got a lot of love for the movie, but the film did not continue to have the same impact which it had on Day 1. The film had a whopping opening of around Rs 74 crore in all languages combined. The films total collection so far stands at Rs 343 crore.
Meanwhile, ‘Devara’ is now set for release on OTT. The film is going to stream on Netflix from November 8 onwards. The streaming platform has acquired the digital rights of the film in all languages, thus, it will be streaming digitally in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.
This was NTR’s first solo release after ‘RRR‘ and it was after a while that he was seen as a lead in a solo-hero film. Of course, this one had Saif Ali Khan so one cannot call it a solo hero film, but it obviously wasn’t like in case of ‘RRR’ where he was with Ram Charan.
Jr NTR had blamed the audiences for ‘Devara’ not getting the kind of due which it should have. He had said, “We, as an audience, have become very negative these days. We are not able to enjoy a film in an innocent manner anymore. I wonder why we are not able to be that innocent anymore? Every film today, we are watching it to analyse. We are all constantly judging, analysing, and overthinking about films. Maybe our exposure to cinema has made us like this.”
Jr NTR will be making his Bollywood debut with ‘WAR 2’, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.
