‘Devara’ box office collection day 12: The Jr NTR starrer slowly begins to drop further, makes Rs 3.75 crore on Wednesday – Times of India

Devara: Part 1′ starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor has been doing a decent business ever since it released on September 27. Though, it had a huge opening of Rs 82 crore on Day 1, that sort of impact has not remained since then. The film has now begun to drop slowly as it is about to end its week 2!
On its second Sunday, the movie did see a jump and made a double digit number of around Rs 12 crore, but as expected, the collections kept going downward consecutively from Monday onwards. On Monday, the film clocked in Rs 5 crore, while on Tuesday it made Rs 4.65 crore as a sum total in India, in all languages. On Wednesday, it saw a further drop and minted Rs 3.75 crore according to Sacnilk. The total collection of the movie so far, at the domestic box office with all the languages combined is Rs 257.15 crore.
Many feel tha the film did not meet up expectations despite this number. Of course, that also comes with the fact that a film of this stature is expected to do more business. ‘Devara’ may further face tough competition from two films set to release this Friday. Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra‘ and Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘ are releasing on October 11.
There’s a good buzz around both these movies, especially ‘Jigra’, hence from Friday onwards, the collections may dip further. This drop in the business has also got to do with the Navratri fever in most parts of the country and people are obviously soaking into the ‘garba’ vibe than going to a theatre to watch a movie.
