T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, who has been enjoying the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, recently talked about his upcoming ventures and father Gulshan Kumar’s biopic. He added that although it wasn’t formally announced, it was widely known that Aamir Khan was associated with the project.
During a conversation with Connect Cine, Bhushan shared that they had a script before, but his mother disapproved of it, so they had to make adjustments. He shared, “We are still writing it. We were ready with it earlier, it was superb, even though we officially didn’t announce everyone knew that Aamir Khan was going to be a part of it. He still wants to, he always tells me, it is the best script he has read in recent times. But there were some reservations from the family about it, especially from my mother, she wanted to tell the story from one perspective and we wrote the script from another perspective.”
He further added, “Obviously, I cannot make a film on my father if my mother is not convinced about it. Once she is convinced, which she will eventually do, the world will get to witness a very inspiring story. For now, we are reworking the script.” Bhushan insisted that they don’t intend to whitewash the events of his father’s life with the film and said, “We are not whitewashing it, just revamping a few things.” He also shared how the film will show incidents about Gulshan Kumar that the world doesn’t know about, they are not even available on the internet. “My mother also wants the world to know some stories about him that a lot of people don’t know.”
In 1983, Gulshan Kumar, the father of Bhushan Kumar, founded the T-Series. After the company began making movies, the brand expanded in the 1990s and rose to prominence as one of the largest music companies in the Hindi film industry. At the age of 46, Gulshan Kumar was shot and killed in Mumbai in 1997. In 2002, Abdul Rauf was found guilty of the murder of Gulshan Kumar.
