In addition to movies, film stars make a lot of money via brand endorsements. However, many celebrities have said a hard no when it comes to promoting certain commodities. For instance, the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaan 3’ star Kartik Aaryan has a strong stance on not doing ‘paan masala’ endorsements.
On the one hand, where many big names like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, and more have associated themselves with paan masala brands and have faced criticism from the same, Kartik Aaryan says irrespective of lucrative remunerations he has refused endorsements.
“I have refused paan masala ads. They tempted me with a lot of things, but I was never tempted to do that at all,” said Kartik Aaryan in his conversation with Siddharth Kannan as he explained his decision.
Along with Kartik, the OG Manjulika of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ Vidya Balan was present at the conversation, and she playfully pointed out how Kartik has no hesitation in doing a condom ad but has restrictions when it comes to paan masala advertisement.
“The great thing is, Kartik chose to endorse a health product instead of paan masala,” said the actress, leaving Kartik in splits. He quickly replied, “Please someone stop her! Yes, that’s exactly what I chose. Safety first.”
Earlier, Akshay Kumar also mentioned that he would never become a brand ambassador of a tobacco brand, but then years later he was seen doing such an ad. This disappointed his fans and thus, in 2022 he issued a public apology, where he said, “With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause.”
The said ad featured him alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn, both of whom continue their association with the brand.
